About .pe domains

Punto.pe is the sponsor and Hexonet aka 1 Api GmbH is our backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .pe extension that represents Peru.

Who can register .pe domains?

Anyone can register .pe domains.

• .pe – Intended for Peru businesses or individuals
• .com.pe – Intended for commercial entities
• .net.pe – Intended for network infrastructures, such as Internet Service Providers
• .org.pe – Intended for noncommercial entities
• .nom.pe —-Intended for general purpose

Registration restrictions

When registering a .pe domain, you must follow specific requirements.

• Must use: 1-63 Characters
• Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
• Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & and #)
• IDNs: Supported (Spanish characters: á, é, í, ó, ú and ñ)

Features

• Registration length: 1-5 years
• Renewal length: 1-4 years
  • Your .pe domain name renews on its expiration date. Auto-renewal is attempted two weeks prior to the domain name’s expiration date. If the auto-renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt auto-renewal 7 days prior to expiration and again on the expiration date.
  • If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it by the expiration date, it must be redeemed. There might be a fee for the redemption. Please reach out to Customer Support for help.
  • For example: Your .pe domain name expires on October 10. If your domain name does not renew automatically, you can renew it manually by October 10. For automatic renewals, we attempt to renew the domain name on September 26, October 3 , and October 10.
• Backorders: Not supported
• Transfers to ELITE WEB Co.: Supported
• Transfers away from ELITE WEB Co.: Supported
  • Once a .pe domain transfer request is submitted, it cannot be cancelled.
• Transfers to another ELITE WEB Co. account: Supported
• Basic privacy protection: Supported
• Protection plan upgrades: Supported
• Contact Updates: Supported

Nameserver requirements

• Must use: 1-10 Nameservers
• Can use: IPv4, IPv6
• Cannot use: DNSSEC
